About Crawford G. Ellsworth III
Crawford Ellsworth grew up in the Tidewater area. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science with a minor in Business. He continued his studies at Appalachian School of Law, where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate in May 2010. He passed the Virginia Bar Exam and began private practice in November of 2010.
From 2012 until October 2020, Crawford was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for Buchanan County. In that role, he tried numerous cases to judges and juries in General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, and Circuit Court. He wrote briefs for cases on appeal in the Virginia Court of Appeals and Virginia Supreme Court.
In 2017, Crawford also took on the role of being the prosecuting attorney for the Buchanan County Drug Court, through that role he became active in the recovery community, and was a founding member and president of the nonprofit Mountain Movers- Buchanan County Chapter. Crawford was also the president of the Buchanan County Bar Association from January 2013 to November 2020.
Crawford moved back to the Tidewater area and reentered private practice in October 2020. He joined Randall, McClenney, Daniels & Dunn in January 2024.
